About Heliograf
Heliograf is an award-winning collaboration of Angus Ware and Jeffrey Simpson, based in Sydney, Australia.
Our debut product Light Soy is a statement on the iconic single-use soy fish. The cute little soy fish are an environmental disaster and lethal to marine life – ironic given their shape. They are emblematic of a broken, wasteful economic model.
We live on the coast and can see first-hand the shocking impact plastic is having on our oceans. We set out to create a design object that highlighted single-use plastic and made a difference.

Award-winning design
We've been featured in The New Yorker, Dezeen, Architectural Digest, Apartment Therapy, The Australian Financial Review & more, and won a Gold Good Design Award.
Our Mission: Design for Good

Design
We design our products with
environmental footprint, resources, reuse and recycling at heart,
inspired by the circular economy model.

Materials
Our products are made with sustainable materials like recycled ocean-bound plastic, or fully compostable materials.

Funding Action
As well as using recycled materials in our products, we fund an extra cleanup of 2kg of plastic for each lamp sold.

Packaging
We use plastic-free, compostable materials for all our packaging and design for minimal waste whenever possible.

Our Impact
Since we launched Light Soy, we've been responsible for the cleanup of over 30 tonnes of plastic, equal to 30 million soy fish packets. Laid end-to-end, this many packets would span the length of Honshu, Japan's main island!

Ocean-Bound Plastic
We use certified recycled ocean-bound plastic, preventing ocean pollution and funding better waste management where it matters most.

Cleanups
We've partnered with Seven Clean Seas to clean up the areas most affected by plastic pollution, and prevent ocean plastic.
