Inspired by the iconic, but environmentally damaging, soy fish packets, Light Soy is designed to stop single use plastic at the ‘sauce’.
The shade is made with 75% recycled ocean-bound plastic, a certified material collected in regions that contribute most ocean plastic, and each lamp funds a further 2kg plastic clean up.
Light Soy is designed to add a warm, joyful glow to any space, and act as a positive reminder that we can make a difference through good design and sustainable materials.
Light Soy Flex is a mains powered lamp, with smart home connectivity via Matter and Apple HomeKit, colour temperature selection and dimming and a versatile design system that allows it to be installed in countless ways.

We live in coastal Australia and see the impact of plastic on the ocean every day. We designed Light Soy to highlight the big impact of small single-use plastics, inspire change and fund solutions to our global plastic problem.
Stopping ocean plastic at the ‘sauce’
We're making a real difference for the oceans. Light Soy’s shade is made with 75% ocean-bound plastic, cleaned up at the main source of ocean pollution.
Funding cleanups
For each & every lamp shipped we fund a cleanup of 2 kilograms of plastic in regions that contribute most to ocean plastic.

What are the different versions of Light Soy?
There are two versions of Light Soy.
Light Soy Portable is a portable, rechargeable USB-C lamp which can be used with or without a base.
Light Soy Flex is a wired lamp, available with a power plug at the end of the cable. It can be used in many different ways depending on how you want to set it up, for example as a table lamp, pendant light or hung from a hook or beam.
Which plug type should I get?
Which plug type should I get?
If you are planning to plug the lamp into a power socket / outlet, or you don’t know where you will put your lamp yet, you should order the plug type for your region.
If a licensed electrician will hardwire the light to your mains power, you can order the ‘No Plug / Wires Only’ type as a plug is not required.
All Light Soy Flex lamps have a universal power supply inside. This means you can use a plug adaptor, or a licensed electrician can easily add, remove or change the plug as needed.

If there is no plug type for your country or region, you have two options:
Order any plug type (for example United States plug) and use a plug adaptor for your country.
Order any Light Soy Flex lamp available (including the ‘No Plug / Bare Wires’ type) and get a licensed electrician to fit the required plug before use.
All Light Soy Flex lamps have a universal power supply inside. This means you can use a plug adaptor, or a licensed electrician can easily add or change the plug as needed in any country.

The possibilities are endless – hang it from any hook, beam or bracket, install it as a ceiling pendant light, or use it as a table lamp with the optional Flex base.

If you want to hardwire the light to your mains power, or modify the plug, this must be done by a licensed electrician according to local regulations.
If you will plug Light Soy Flex into a power point / outlet you do not need an electrician.

Hardwired installation must be done by a licensed electrician. If required, the electrician may remove the power plug from the end of the cable, and connect the lamp directly into the mains power circuit, according to local regulations.

No. Light Soy Flex has an integrated LED. We chose this to maximise LED performance. The LED is very high quality and will last many years – in 5 years we've never had one fail.
If it does fail, we will supply a replacement integrated LED, which can be replaced by an electrician or other qualified technician.
How does the Flex base work?
How does the Flex base work?
The Flex base has an opening in the bottom that the power plug can pass through. You simply pass the cable through the base and place the lamp in the base.
Can I upgrade my existing Light Soy lamp?

Yes! If you want to upgrade an existing Light Soy lamp, you can buy just the red cap part here.
Please note only recycled plastic shades are compatible.
Do I need a Flex base to use as a table lamp?
Do I need a Flex base to use as a table lamp?
Not always, but it’s highly recommended. The cable exits the bottom of the lamp, so if you want it to stand upright you will need to use the Flex base, or cut a hole in the surface you want to mount it to for the cable to pass through.

Every installation location is a bit different, so what you will need will vary depending on what you are trying to do. It is definitely possible to use Light Soy Flex with no extra accessories.
If you’re unsure, we recommend asking an electrician or local lighting supplier for advice based on your specific needs.
